Wrestling. Horror. Neon.
I'm sure you many of you remember the film put out not long ago by the Luchagore Productions team, the wrestling themed gore-romp EL GIGANTE. It was a nasty good time that tackled a sub-genre not often seen, making it a most welcome horror addition that very nearly had everything you could ask for. Everything that is, but length. Coming in at a poultry 14 minutes, horror fans were left foaming at the mouth for more. Thankfully, production company Boston Film Family is stepping in with a new challenger for the wrestling-horror championship title. PARTS UNKNOWN, a super-stylish, super-demented tale about family of professional wrestlers that, after having put their bodies through the grinder year after year, are now looking to satisfy their insatiable desire for dispensing pain - in a whole new way.
Written, produced, and directed by Boston Film Family CEO Richard Chandler, “Parts Unknown” is the story about how the infamous Von Strasser family (of professional wrestling fame) seek to violently reclaim their notorious status through supernatural means despite being blackballed by forces within the industry. The movie stars retired pro-wrestler/actor William DeCoff, pro-wrestling manager/actress Lizzie Havoc, and Boston Film Family alumni Alexandra Cipolla, Alexander Hauck, and Sarah Michelle. Legendary independent movie actress Melantha Blackthorne, who had a leading role in Chandler’s feature film “Gilgamesh” (2014), returns in a smaller role while former pro-wrestler Jake “The Snake” Roberts lends his vocal talents to the movie. Cameos are also provided by the indie tag team The Devil’s Doormen as well as YouTube and podcast personality Brian Zane (of “Wrestling with Wregret” fame).
The movie was shot by Director of Photography Denez McAdoo, costumes were created by Jenny French, and composer Andre Fernandea created the movie’s score.
