I'm a huge proponent of Virtual Reality, especially as a fan of horror - it genuinely is the most viscerally capable platform to deliver bone rattling scares. If you've had a chance to play a well produced VR horror title (Resident Evil 7 for example), then you understand where my frothing endorsement comes from; there's quite literally nothing like it. Currently, the only thing this method of interaction is lacking in, is content. A shame, given its potential capabilities. So whenever we hear any news about a game or film being developed or shot for VR - we tend to freak out a little. And when it's someone behind the helm as talented and seasoned as Alexandre Aja - well, we freak out a lot.
This April 21st (two days!), exclusively on the Oculus Store, a 360° VR horror mini series called CAMPFIRE CREEPERS, directed by Aja himself, will be released. And you best be sure we'll be consuming every bit of it day one. Trailer below:
from the Oculus store:
Campfire Creepers: Midnight MarchWhen the kids at Camp Coyote are forced on a brutal midnight march by their sadistic counselors, one boy reaches his breaking point. He turns the tables on the bullies, revealing a surprising secret about himself in the process. Master of horror Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, High Tension) invites viewers on a thrilling ride that will leave them gasping. Coming to Rift and Gear VR on April 21.
